Introduction to Sergers--July 25 2026

Let's be honest: sergers are intimidating. Four threads, loopers, needles, blades... lots of us buy the serger, but we don't feel confident in actually using it. This hands-on class is for the serger newbie who needs a little help to get the most out of their machine. We will begin with threading our sergers and going over simple setting adjustments to achieve different finishes. We will practice techniques to serge precise corners. We will also cover how to do a rolled/narrow hem, a lettuce hem, and create ruffles/gathers,

Bring your serger with all the cords, foot pedal, instruction manual, machine accessories, 4 thread cones/spools, and scissors/snips. Fabric for practicing techniques is provided in class.
