    Beginner Sewing Basics

    In this class you will learn basic sewing techniques such as different seams, seam finishes, sewing curves and corners, sewing a blind hem, and sewing a buttonhole.  In addition, you will learn 3 ways to secure your seams such as backstitch, tying-off, and locking stitches.  This class is packed with techniques to get you started with garment or home décor sewing.

    Beginning Sewing Machine Basics

    This hands-on class is for the new sewer or someone that has not sewn for a while.  You will learn parts of your sewing machine; sewing terms, how to thread your machine, wind a bobbin, insert a needle, and sew a straight seam.  At the end of the class you will be comfortable with your machine, have the knowledge to troubleshoot some common sewing problems.

    Advanced Smocking

    So you’ve learned the basic smocking stitches, now what?  In this class you will learn how to cut and prepare fabric for smocking, read a smocking plate, center the design, sew in an insert and sew the smocked jumper together.

    Serger Basics I

    Learn the basics of using your serger in this hands-on class and create a notebook of your samples.  We’ll cover threading tricks, tensions, practice seam finishes, corners, curves, rolled hems plus work with decorative/specialty thread.  This is a great class if you are curious about sergers.  If you don’t own one, then we will be happy to loan you one for the class.

    Fuse & Stitch-Appliqué Basics

    Learn the basics of raw edge appliqué, how to work with different shapes, and discover different stitch options of your machine.  We will practice stitching techniques, discuss stabilizers, fusible products, threads, and other supplies needed to make your projects successful.  Learn to make wonderful gifts by adding appliqué to tea towels, pillows, garments, or other items.

    Last Minute Gift Workshop
